Why you’ll love this vegan banana bread recipe:

  • The recipe uses common ingredients that are probably found in most homes. You probably won’t even have to make a trip to the grocery store to make this banana bread!
  • It’s perfect for meal prepping breakfasts and snacks. The banana bread can be stored in a sealed bag or airtight container at room temperate for three to four days. You also have the option to freeze the bread, in which it will stay good for up to two months! If the bread is frozen, just thaw it in the refrigerator overnight.
  • This is the ideal recipe to experiment with… because you can’t go wrong! Add some flavor and additional nutritional value to your banana bread by fill and topping it with walnuts or pecans. If you’re in the mood for something sweeter, try chocolate chips! If you make this recipe with a different filling or topping, please let me know. I’d love to know how it turns out with a different twist!

Here’s how to make this the vegan banana bread recipe perfect:

  • Use ripe spotty bananas: These bananas will provide a better taste because they’re loaded with natural sugars.
  • Coconut oil can be substituted: I personally use coconut oil for this recipe, but the same quantity of vegan butter will also work. If preferred, apple sauce can also be used to replace the coconut oil which will create a spongier bread.
  • Use your favorite milk: Any plant-based milk will work with this recipe without affecting the flavor or texture.
  • Don’t overmix it: When combining the wet ingredients and the dry ingredients, be careful not to over-mix the batter. This will cause the texture to change which will affect the amount the bread rises.
  • A food scale is your friend: If you do a lot of home-cooking, it’s always a good idea to have a food scale. But with this recipe, it can be especially handy. Measuring the flour and banana will ensure your banana bread comes out with the perfect texture and flavor.
